Karin Huang Kim has been practicing law for over twenty years, first as a litigator and then transitioning exclusively into the area of trust and estates law.
Prior to handling trust and estates matters, Karin gained substantial litigation experience as an attorney at O’Melveny & Myers, a prominent international law firm. There, she served leading roles in high-profile complex matters. With this background, Karin brings a unique perspective to estate planning, aiming to avoid costly litigation and minimize future conflicts.
Focusing solely on trust and estates law for over a decade now, Karin has developed a strong skill set in this area. Daughter of renowned (retired) trust and estates attorney David M. Huang, Karin gained valuable experience from David’s legal practice that spanned four decades. Following in her father’s footsteps, Karin is committed to delivering cost-effective, personalized client service with empathy and compassion. Karin also helps her clients with the same responsiveness, diligence, and attention to detail as was expected in high-stakes litigation.
Karin obtained her law degree from UC Law San Francisco (formerly Hastings School of Law). During law school, Karin was the Managing Editor of the Hastings Law Journal and also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Edward M. Chen, U.S. District Judge. Karin obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from UCLA, magna cum laude.
Karin takes pride in investing in public schools and served as president of a Los Angeles County school foundation for several years. She is an avid painter, creative writer, and fitness enthusiast. Karin is conversant in Mandarin Chinese.
