Karin Huang Kim has been practicing law for over twenty years, first as a litigator before transitioning her practice exclusively to trusts and estates law.
Prior to focusing on trusts and estates, Karin gained substantial litigation experience as an attorney at O’Melveny & Myers, a prominent international law firm. There, she played leading roles in high-profile, complex matters. This background gives Karin a unique perspective on estate planning, allowing her to identify and address issues proactively in an effort to avoid costly litigation and minimize future family conflict.
For more than a decade, Karin has devoted her practice exclusively to trusts and estates. She is the daughter of the late David M. Huang, a highly respected trusts and estates attorney whose legal career spanned more than four decades. Through years of working alongside her father, Karin gained invaluable experience and developed a deep appreciation for thoughtful, client-centered estate planning. She continues his legacy by delivering personalized, cost-effective legal counsel with empathy, responsiveness, diligence, and attention to detail.
Karin received her law degree from UC Law San Francisco (formerly Hastings College of the Law). During law school, she served as Managing Editor of the Hastings Law Journal and as a judicial extern to the Honorable Edward M. Chen of the United States District Court. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, magna cum laude, from UCLA.
Karin also serves as an advisor to RegistryAZ, where she helps advance solutions that improve access to estate planning documents when they are needed most.
Karin is committed to giving back to her community and previously served as president of a Los Angeles County public school foundation. Outside the office, Karin enjoys painting, creative writing, fitness, and is always planning her next national park adventure. She is conversant in Mandarin Chinese.
